About the Print

Captured high in the Peruvian Andes during the Santa Cruz Trek, this image reveals the quiet movement of the night sky over time. The photograph was created by leaving the camera exposed for several hours, allowing the rotation of the Earth to be recorded as sweeping arcs of light across the sky. These arcs are known as star trails, showing the paths stars take as the planet slowly turns beneath them.

With no light pollution in this remote mountain landscape, the camera was able to capture the true, natural colours of the night sky. Subtle purples, blues, and soft whites reflect the glow of the Milky Way and distant nebulae, preserved exactly as they appeared to the naked eye in total darkness. The silhouetted peaks below anchor the image, creating a sense of scale between the stillness of the mountains and the constant motion of the universe above.

Ideal for lovers of astronomy, adventure, and expansive landscapes, this print brings a feeling of calm, wonder, and perspective into any space.
